Living with the aftermath.

Trauma doesn't always announce itself clearly. You might find yourself reacting to situations in ways that feel out of proportion, or struggling with intrusive memories, flashbacks, or a persistent feeling of being unsafe. Some people feel numb or detached, cut off from their own feelings and from others.

Others carry trauma quietly for years, not always connecting their current difficulties to past experiences. This is very common, and it makes sense, the mind does what it needs to do to protect us.

Both deserve care.

Trauma can take different forms. Big-T trauma refers to significant, overwhelming events such as abuse, accidents, violence, or loss. Little-t trauma refers to the cumulative effect of smaller but repeated experiences: emotional unavailability, neglect, or feeling chronically unseen or misunderstood. Both are real, and both deserve care.

Patience, safety and trust.

Working with trauma requires patience, safety, and trust. I work at a careful pace, never pushing into material before the therapeutic relationship is strong enough to hold it. Together, we create the conditions in which difficult experiences can gradually be processed and integrated, gently unboxing what has been stored away.

This is not about reliving the past, but about finding a way to carry it differently.
