Relationship Therapy
in Hove.

Individual psychotherapy to explore relationship patterns and difficulties, based in Hove.

Recognising the patterns.

Relationship difficulties take many forms. Loneliness, even within a relationship. Repeating the same painful patterns with different people. Difficulty with intimacy, trust, or communication. A sense of never quite feeling understood, or of pushing people away without knowing why.

These experiences can be deeply distressing, and often leave people feeling as though something is fundamentally wrong with them. It isn't, but there may be patterns worth understanding.

Templates formed early.

The ways we relate to others are shaped early, by our first relationships with caregivers, by experiences of being soothed or left alone, seen or overlooked. These early templates operate largely outside our awareness, yet they influence how we behave in relationships throughout our lives.

Therapy offers a space to begin seeing these patterns clearly, and to understand where they came from.

A space to explore relational dynamics.

One of the unique aspects of psychotherapy is that the relationship between therapist and client can itself become a space to explore relational dynamics, noticing what arises between us, and using that understanding to shed light on wider patterns. This is careful, collaborative work.
