Psychotherapist.
In practice since 2014.
I became a psychotherapist out of a long-standing interest in human consciousness, and because of my own difficulties and the various ways I sought to find a way forward. I found that the therapeutic relationship offered a unique space to work at depth.
More than a decade of clinical practice.
I qualified with an MSc in Psychotherapy from the University of Brighton in 2014 and have been working full time ever since. Over more than a decade of clinical practice, I've worked with a wide range of people, from those navigating acute crisis, to people dealing with long-standing patterns they've never quite been able to shift.
My clinical experience spans a range of professional settings: the Youth Offending Service, Brighton Council's supported accommodation for young people aged 16 to 25, Sure Start Children's Centres, Sussex University, and private practice. I have been in private practice since 2012 and am a founding member of the Brighton Psychotherapy and Counselling Collective.
A psychodynamic approach.
I work psychodynamically, which means I'm interested not just in your symptoms, but in the deeper psychological structures that underlie them, the unconscious beliefs, early experiences, and relational patterns that shape how we move through the world.
The therapeutic relationship offered a unique space to work at depth, helping to overcome difficulties and address the blocks to development.
My approach has been shaped by Freudian and object relations thinking, Jungian ideas through my supervision training, attachment theory, and neuroscience. The therapy room is a place where you can say what you really think and feel, including things that might feel difficult, shameful, or hard to put into words. My job is to help you feel safe enough to do that, and to think alongside you about what emerges.
